History of Russellville Gospel Tabernacle
Gospel Tabernacle Church was founded in early 1940, when a group of God’s people under the direction of Bro. Buford Burchett, begin to meet in a store front in downtown Russellville Ky. After 3 years, the store front was purchased by Carl Harrison, to open a Ford Motor Dealership.
In 1943 following the move from downtown, Sis. Genie McEwan opened up her home and allowed the saints of God to meet there until 1944. At that time, Sis. McEwan received a $1,000 allotment from the government for her 2 sons being in the war, and gave it toward the construction of a new building. Along with the $1,000 and the land that Bro. Logan and Sis. Marie Thomas donated, 815 Nashville Road, would be the place where the saints would meet for the next 68 years.

Following the ministry of Bro. Burchett, Bro. Harley Price took over the work in the fall of 1962. Bro. Price pastored here until retirement in 1965, when the Lord dealt with Bro. Orville Kline to move from San Antonio Texas to Russellville, where he abided until his passing in 1998.
Bro. Kline's ministry, and adept gift of teaching planted the saints deeper into the precious truths of the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
In December 1985, at the young age of 17,
Bro. Craig Jackson answered the call and made the move to Russellville, where he entered into the work of God’s ministry.
Bro. Jackson labored beside his mentor, Bro. Kline for many years until he began his leadership of the church in 1996, until present day.
In the Fall of 2003, with the Lord’s leading and much prayer, we were able to purchase property at 659 Cates By-Pass Road, where 7 years later, we began construction of our new facility.
With the selfless efforts of brothers and sisters across the Body of Christ, as well as the saints here at home, the new doors opened on March 18, 2012 for a continuation of this Great and Mighty Work of our Precious Lord.
